COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT (CBC)

The CBC is one of the most routinely performed laboratory tests. It examines the components of blood, including red and white blood cells and platelets. Shape, size, maturity, and number of these cells are also determined with this exam.

It is a valuable screening tool for a wide variety of disorders including anemia, infection, blood diseases (e.g. leukemia, lymphoma), and problems with blood clotting.
