HEART RATE VARIABILITY ASSESSMENT (HRVA)
Heart Rate Variability Assessment is a non-invasive tool for measuring the state,
tone and balance of the autonomic (involuntary) nervous system (ANS). The length
of time between consecutive heartbeats is regulated by the ANS and is changed
by many factors such as pH, temperature, stress, hormones, etc. The body always
strives to achieve balance or homeostasis. Thus, the amount of variability of
the heart rate may indicate either challenges to homeostasis (balance) and/or
the ability of the body to react to these challenges.
One's overall degree of physical fitness, emotional state and nervous system health
can be determined by this test.
